Individualized Education Programme (IEP)

Assessing children in an early intervention preschool is crucial in identifying their strengths and areas for improvement. The VB-MAPP, ESDM, ABBL-R and other relevant assessments are tools used to evaluate the children's skills in various areas, such as language, communication, social interaction, and self-care.

These assessments provide a comprehensive picture of the child's abilities and needs, which is used to develop an Individualized Educational Programme (IEP) for each child. Each child's IEP is unique and tailored to their specific needs, based on the results of their assessments.

Each child's IEP is then used to teach skills such as matching, imitation, play skills, social skills, and self-care skills in a way that is appropriate for each child's developmental level. By utilizing these assessments and developing individualized programs, we can help children with special needs to reach their full potential and achieve success in their academic and personal lives.

Aistear

Aistear is a national preschool curriculum in Ireland that emphasizes the importance of observing children to identify their interests and needs in order to tailor educational activities and experiences accordingly.

At our By Your Side, we incorporate Aistear through daily arts and crafts activities that encourage children to express themselves creatively and develop their fine motor skills. We also organize group game activities that promote social interaction and help children learn important communication and teamwork skills. In addition, we use educational songs and videos to engage children in learning about language, literacy, and numeracy in a fun and interactive way.

By incorporating Aistear into our daily routines, we can help children with special needs develop important skills and reach their full potential.
