Frequently asked questions.

In order for your child to attend our preschool they will need to have a formal ASD diagnosis, and be eligible for the Department of Education's 'Home Tuition Grant'. This grant will then fully fund your child's place at our early intervention preschool.
Please note; your child is eligible for a 'Home Tuition Grant', only until a suitable primary school placement is found. For information on appropriate school placements for your child, you should consult with your SENO (Special Educational Needs Organiser).

We currently have two classroom sessions. The first session is held in the morning (9am-1pm), and the second is held in the afternoon (1.30pm-5.30pm). We do try our best to accommodate everyone's needs. However, which class your child is placed in, depends on a first come basis.
Each class has one headteacher and three tutors. All of whom are qualified and trained to provide both direct 1-1 education, and group activities. They are also trained to teach through play and tabletop - as required.

When your child starts their journey with us, their individual educational needs will be assessed. Once we complete their assessment, our BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst) designs a unique programme just for your child.
That being said, some of the things we teach in our classrooms include (but not limited to); Toilet training, communication, play skills, social skills and academics. Fun and play are encouraged throughout the day, as in any other preschool.

We assess the children in our care using various methods. These include, parent interviews, direct observation, assessments including the VB-MAPP, the ESDM, ABBLS-R and various other assessments related to the child's individual needs.
The results of these assessment are then used to form the child's Individual Education Programme (IEP).
